Pattern, Position Power: How To Experience The Glory Of God (Part 1)
Pattern, Position Power: How To Experience The Glory Of God (Part 2)
Power
To be a success in ministry, in life, in your walk with God — to experience the glory of God, the first thing you have to do is get God’s heavenly pattern or plan. Then you have to position yourself in that plan, in a place to receive the anointing, and when you do, the power of heaven will be open unto you. Matthew 3:16 says, “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Why did the power of God come on Jesus Christ? He was following God’s pattern. God ordained that He would be baptized by John in the Jordan River. So He came to John. John didn’t have to go hunt Jesus down. Jesus knew the plan of God. He went to John and said, “John you need to baptize me.”
John told him, “Oh no, Lord, I need to be baptized by you,” because he knew and recognized who Jesus was.
“No, John,” Jesus responded. “We have to fulfill the scriptures. We have to do it according to God’s plan, not according to our plan.”
So Jesus first had God’s pattern or plan. Number two, He positioned Himself in that plan by being baptized in the Jordan. Number three, the power of the supernatural came upon Him and the windows of heaven were open and God spoke to Him. How do we know? Verse 16 says, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him…”
What is God wanting to do today? He wants to open the Heavens. We need help in the United States of America. We need help all across the body of Christ. The world needs help. We need help and we need an open heaven.
I want to tell you how to get an open heaven in your life, over your church, over your ministry, over your meetings, over your family – wherever you’re at. How do we do that? We find God’s pattern (or plan), position yourself there and don’t move and the power of the supernatural will come upon you.
Acts 7:56, speaking of Stephen, says that he saw into the heavens and he saw an open heaven. I want to encourage you that you can see an open heaven also. God wants to bring an open heaven to you, to your life, your family, your ministry, and your church.
Acts 7:54-55 says, “When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God.” Stephen saw an open heaven. Why? Because he found out the plan or pattern of God for his life. He was doing what God said to do. He positioned himself there. He did what God said regardless of what the people said, regardless of what the church of his day thought. He was doing what God said.
When Stephen did that, the power of the supernatural came upon him. The heavens opened, the glory of God came upon him, and he was caught up in the glory. The same thing can happen to us today.
Revelation 4:1 says, “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.” John saw a door that was opened in heaven. There are doors; there are gates; there are windows that God can open in heaven.
The Apostle Paul, on the Road to Damascus (when he was known as Saul), recieved from Jesus Christ the pattern or plan for the beginning of His ministry.
Acts 9:6 says, “So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
Once he received that plan, he positioned himself in it. Acts 9:17 says, “And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.” After positioning himself in the plan of God, Paul received the power of God.
If you will find God’s pattern or plan, and position yourself in that plan, you will recieving the power of God.
