Pattern
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them. And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights. (Exodus 24:12-18)
And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. (Exodus 25:8-9)
It’s important to know what God is saying and as Christians, we should know what God is speaking and saying every single day of our lives. God does have a plan for you. God does have a purpose for you and your life. A while back I was praying and the Lord told me what we, as believers, should be doing in our lives today. Now this isn’t for non-believers, this is for Christians.
It was during a time in prayer that God said to me three specific words. Of course I didn’t understand them all at once, but over a period of time praying and meditating on them they became clear to me and I understood what the Lord is saying to us in this day.
The first word that I heard was Pattern. The second word I heard was Position. And the third was Power –Pattern, Position, and Power. Those are three things that God is saying to the body of Christ today. This is not a time for you to be depressed. It is a time for you to be blessed and understand the blessings and the Word of God.
God has a specific plan, a specific pattern, a specific way that he wants us to do things. God only occupies what He designs. If God does not design it, if God does not plan it, if God does not build it, He’s not going to occupy it. One of the problems that we deal with in the body of Christ as a whole, and I’m not condemning or criticizing anyone at all but just pointing out some facts, is that when we get our plans in the way of God’s plans, it hinders what God wants to do.
The greatest moves of God that I have seen in my life personally were when I didn’t know what to do and all I could do was pray and seek God, and God would tell me what to do and I would follow that plan and I got supernatural results each time. That is God’s plan for us. He wants to be God in our life. He wants to be in charge of everything that we think, everything that we say, and everything that we do. In fact, our whole lives should reflect what God is saying to us today. We live in a society today that we call the information age. If you want to know about something, it’s out there. Somebody has studied it, somebody has learned it. If you can’t find it in a book or magazine, then certainly you can find it on the Internet. There’s plenty of information out there.
Finding out information on a website or something is all well and good, but if it’s not what God is saying to you in that specific situation, it’s not going to benefit you, and the glory of God is not going to show up to help you. It’s important that you find out God’s pattern. God called Moses up onto the mountain to show him the pattern or the plan, or to give him, what we would call today, the blueprints to build the sanctuary. Now I’m not going to go into when they got it built, but let me tell you that God occupied the sanctuary after they built it. After they did it His way. The glory of God filled the building to the point where the ministers and priests could not stand to minister. All they could do is hit the floor. All they could do is bow down before Him and lay flat on their face. This is in your Bible. You can find out that God showed up.
But why did He show up? He did because they found out, Moses found out what God wanted to do, how He wanted to build the tabernacle, and the plans He had, and they did it according to the plan or pattern that God laid out. Only after they built it correctly like God said, did God show up and occupy the tabernacle.
How did Moses get the plan though? Because you and I can learn from Moses. We can benefit from finding out what he did. Exodus 24:12 says, “And the LORD said unto Moses…” Let me stop there though. The first thing is that the Lord said something to Moses. So that means that Moses had to be in a position to hear what God said. And when you get in a position to hear what God is saying, that is one of the greatest places you could ever be in your life.
I encourage you to get in a place where you can hear what God is saying. Moses had to be in a place to hear what God was saying to him because “The Lord said to Moses.” You ask, “How do I get in that place?”
It’s one thing to know you should be there, it’s another to actually be there. The only way you can hear what God is saying is to separate yourself from this world, all the information age, all that is going on around you, and kind of enclose yourself in the presence and spirit of God. There is a place called the realm of the spirit that you can step off into that’s beyond your education, ability, and training, and your natural mind. And it will take you to a place where you can hear the voice of God. I encourage you to begin to meditate on the Word, meditate on the Lord, and spend time in prayer and it will put you in a position to hear from God, and you will be blessed when God speaks.
