There is a great push on today within the church world to embrace technology. Technology isn’t bad, but we want to make sure that it doesn’t hinder what God wants to do. Many churches now live stream all of their services. This is a great use of technology for the Kingdom of God. For those that are homebound or sick or in another country or region where there is not a good Full Gospel church, this can be a blessing.
However, I do not believe you can receive the full impact of any service without being physically there. In some meetings I do, we broadcast them live on the internet. You can be blessed listening afar but you need to be physically in the service to get it all. In Acts 2, the Holy Ghost fell in the upper room. If you wanted to receive the Holy Ghost at that time you had to be inside the upper room. Peter was preaching at Cornelius’ house and the Holy Ghost fell there. You had to be there for the Holy Ghost to fall on you. Yes, I believe the Power of God can come on people when you pray for them at a distance.
However, the corporate anointing creates a greater measure of the Glory. When everyone comes together and you have that corporate faith and corporate anointing, there’s something you can get there that you just can’t get sitting at home. Yes, it is a blessing to have services live streamed for those who can’t make it so they can hear the Word preached, but there is nothing like being physically present in the meetings.
I encourage you, just because a church or ministry has a meeting live streamed, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be there. I understand that things come up and sometimes we can’t make it. But don’t let that be the norm. There is an anointing in each meeting that you can’t get sitting at home. I encourage you to be there.
