On July 4, 1776, The United States of America declared their independence from Great Britain. Many wars were fought and many prayers were made to bring us to that point, and many gave their lives for the freedoms that we enjoy today. Since we first declared our independence, we have fought many wars to maintain our freedoms. There is a biblical principle that has been at work in this nation: what you obtain, you must maintain.
Prayer and faith in God is what will maintain what we have obtained. We must not allow the devil to take spiritual control of this nation, taking us back into bondage, to lose our freedom to worship God and spread the Gospel. I thank God for those saints who are continually interceding for this nation asking God to step in and intervene in the political, social, economic, and spiritual realm of our nation.
As grateful as we are, and as much faith that we may have, we must also acknowledge the situation our nation is in. The United States is in a mess today. But it can be turned around. America is in the mess that it is in today in the political realm, in the social realm, in the economic realm, and in the spiritual realm because the church is in a mess. This is not to condemn or disparage anyone. This is speaking the truth in love. To deal with a problem or situation, to find the answer, you must first identify the problem, you have to identify the root cause.
I’m not talking about every church or christian or minister, but as a whole, we have this thing in a mess. Seducing spirits and doctrines of the devil are operating in the church, masquerading as doctrines of God and the Holy Spirit. But these things are not of God. And because the church is in a mess, the nation is in a mess.
The reason the devil wants to take out the United States of America is because America is the number one nation that sends out missionaries. Around 90% of the Gospel that goes into the world comes out of the United States. That’s not to disparage any other nation.
But if you wanted to stop a nation from sending out missionaries, to stop the Gospel, how would you do it? You’d stop the nation itself. And that’s what the devil is doing today. He is in the church, watering down the Gospel, and filling it with doctrines of devils and seducing spirits. This nation is in the mess it is today because the church has not prayed like it should. Again, not to disparage or attack anyone, but to tell the truth.
But it’s not the devil’s fault. It’s the church’s fault. Read the scripture above. What is the first thing God tells the church to do – pray for their nation and their leaders. Why is the church told to do this? Because the church is the only entity in the world that has the authority to change things.
So I urge you today, celebrate the birth of our nation, give thanks to God for what He has given us, but also, pray for our nation. Pray for our leaders. Take your authority over the devil and his maneuvers in this nation. God is with us and our best days are ahead.
