The church is in the world to get people born again and influence the culture of society with God’s Word. Most all spiritual and moral problems occur in the church when the church becomes influenced by the culture of an ungodly society.
The masses of the human race or Christian world have never changed the culture of an ungodly society. The reason is that the masses of the population generally agree with the ungodly society, even in Christianity. Changing the culture of society, by the church, starts with a few who refuse to adapt to an ungodly culture. This is what God means by being “holy” and “set apart.” We are to be different than the world. They are not supposed to relate to us when it comes to spiritual issues. There is to be a difference. Our father is God Almighty. The world’s father is the devil. There is a difference. And until we decide that we will not compromise that difference and not give in to this ungodly culture, we will not change the culture of the world.
Three young men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego changed the entire culture of their society. I stand with them and I will not bow down to the culture the church and the world is trying to force me into. I refuse to follow ungodly, unspiritual people in the church who want me to adapt to the culture of an ungodly society. I will follow the Word and Spirit of God.
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.
