Speak God’s Words
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; (Joshua 1:8)
You must speak God’s Word about your life. This is principle number two. If you want to go forward in your future, you must speak God’s Word about your life, about where you want to go. If you don’t speak God’s Word about your life you are not going to arrive at your destination. God cannot make something happen in your life that you can’t get in agreement with Him on. You have to speak God’s Word. Mark 11:23 says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
Who said those words? It was Jesus Christ Himself that said those. God told Joshua to not let the Word depart out of his mouth. Do not let the Word depart out of your mouth. You must speak God’s Word out of your mouth about where you want to go in your life. What do you want to see happen in your life? How do you want Heaven to open up over your life? You need to start speaking God’s Word. Find scriptures that pertain to where you want to go. I would encourage you to write them down on a piece of paper and make a plan. Now you do what the Holy Ghost tells you to do, but you don’t have to get the whole Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Usually when the Lord is dealing with me along certain lines about something He wants me to speak or say over my life, He’ll give me one or two scriptures that will really emphasize something and I’ll really know that is what God wants me to do. I’ll meditate on those scriptures. So I encourage you to get two or three scriptures about the direction you want to go in life and begin to meditate on them and speak them out loud to yourself.
Now I remember when I was in prison and they told me I would be released from prison on parole in the month of none. There is no month of none that I have found. If you locate it before I do, please let me know. Today I have a full pardon and all my crimes have been eradicated by the blood of the Lamb and the government and I have the right to own and bear firearms. And I was in prison for armed robbery. Only God could do such a thing.
Now I remember the first thing that happened when they told me that I would be released in the month of none. The Lord put words in my mouth to say. That’s what He did. He gave me scriptures, which are listed in the back of my book Escape From Hell. He gave me words to say. He told me to speak them and walking the prison yard I spoke those words out loud to myself over and over and over. The Bible says in Romans 10:17 that “faith comes from hearing God’s Word.” So if you want to go farther in life, you have to have faith to go forward. It’s easy to quit if you don’t keep the Word of God in your mouth.
Let me encourage you. The same words that got me in faith to believe to get out of prison were the same words of God that kept me in faith when the attacks of the enemy came and told me it wasn’t working. Because it looked like it wasn’t working. I remember May 31, 1984, I entered into what I call the arena of faith. I stepped into that arena, standing in that prison, with a letter that said I would be released from prison in the month of none, and I said “I believe that I receive my parole right here today in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The Word of God says in Mark 11:23, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. So I say it out of my mouth in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I have my parole!”
Now the enemy would come and even give me bad dreams at night and show me pictures of myself as an old, elderly gentleman walking around with a cane, still in that prison. I would wake up, wet with a cold sweat dripping off of me and I would reach under my pillow and pulls those scriptures out, turn a little night light on and read those scriptures to myself until I got happy again. I’d put them back under my pillow and I’d go to sleep. Sometimes I’d have to do that three or four times a night. Why? Because the enemy would come and try to steal my faith. But what did I do? I kept God’s Word in my mouth.
August 27, 1984, a few days prior to three months after being told I would be released in the month of none, Captain Felton Crumpton came walking up to me on the prison yard and said, “Your parole papers are sitting up there on my desk and you’re going home Monday morning.” So on August 27, 1984, at around 8:10 am, I walked out of prison by a miracle of God because if you will speak God’s Word, you will come out on top every single time without fail. But to do that, to go forward, you must speak God’s Word about your life. Keep speaking. God is with us.
