The blessings of God are not necessarily automatic in your life. There are criteria that have to be met for the promises of the Word of God to be a reality in your life. There are conditions that must be met. Some ask, “Why in the world did God put conditions on these promises?”
Another stands up and says, “ I know. He wanted to make it hard for us to get them. He wanted us to be like a tiger at the circus, jumping through fiery hoops and beg for food.”
No. That’s not the reason that the conditions are on the promises of God’s Word. The reason the conditions are on the promises of God’s Word is to guarantee the Christian that not even the devil can stop them from happening in your life. It’s not to make it hard. It’s to guarantee you the reception of them.
And yes, there are conditions that must be met for these promises to take place in your life. A scripture we quote a lot is Mark 11:24.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:24)
The promise is conditional. There’s a condition that must be met for the promise in that verse to work for you. It’s not going to work just because you read it. It’s not going to work just because you quote it. You could memorize it and it would do you no good. It’s going to work because you meet the conditions.
That’s the truth. Unless you desire something in your heart and believe that you receive them when you pray, you’re not going to get what you want. That’s the conditions – desire it, believe you receive it, and pray for it. That’s when you’ll get it. It’s conditional. You have to meet the conditions to get it. It’s a guarantee that not even the devil can stop you, not even circumstances can stop you, nothing can stop you as long as you meet the conditions.
So when you fail to meet the conditions, you fail to receive the promises that the Word of God promises you. So I urge you, search the scriptures, find the promises of God for your life. But find the conditions that need to be met for the promises to come to you, fulfill those conditions, walk in the promises of God.
