Spiritual Things Must Be Done Through Spiritual Means

June 26, 2014 By Rev. Randall Grier

I got a call from a minister and his wife one day who are overseas. They called and told me that they were about to lose their church and his ministry because of some things going on in the government. I saw into the spirit and saw that there was this demon controlling the situation. I saw this demon and I called him down and told him He had to stop in Jesus’ name. If you’re in the spirit you can do that. Those ministers ended up not losing their ministry or the church and things went well.

However, when I saw this demon in the spirit, I knew that I could deal with it. I just didn’t think up something off the top of my head. It wasn’t me. If it was me, I could’ve thought that maybe they needed to get something right in their life. I am not saying they were doing something wrong. It wasn’t me though. It was God working in me, showing me that there was this demon spirit that was hindering these ministers and trying to take their ministry away.

This wasn’t something natural. This was something spiritual. That is why there is a such a call to prayer today. We are trying to do spiritual things with natural means. It will not work. It’s been proven. I’ve watched it happen. It will not work.

Don’t get me wrong. Some of these things that people are trying to do are wonderful things. However, they are not God things and they will not work. If the Lord is not in it, if He is not the one anointing it, you are wasting your time.

It’s starting to be popular to start churches in different places – satellite churches or different campuses as they call them. These churches have one pastor at one place and different campuses around town, around the state, or around the nation. It didn’t used to be popular, but now these are catching on. It’s not wrong to start a church. I believe God could lead someone to start one of these.

However, when you do something because someone else is doing it and they’re having success doing it and then you fall flat on your face because you decided to do it, you’ll wish you wouldn’t have done it. You’ll wish you wouldn’t have done it after you put thousands of dollars into it. I see people that are doing that right now and they are wishing they would’ve never done it. They have this start up church that they have spent all this money on; thinking people would be flocking to them by the hundreds and by the thousands because that’s what happened over there, but now they can hardly pay the bills.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t go start a church. I’m saying you need to get in prayer and find out what God wants you to do. Once you find out what He wants you to do, then you need to do it. That is the key to success. I believe that there will be people starting churches all over the country, but it will be by the instruction of God and the Holy Spirit and they will be successful and help lots of people.

So we must not do spiritual things by natural means. Spiritual things, and that includes the Christian life, have to be done by spiritual means and that’s through prayer and guidance of the Holy Spirit. So go to God in prayer, get His plan, His anointed plan and go out and do it. Then you won’t be standing around wishing you wouldn’t have done something that you thought would be a blessing and now it only seems like a curse.

About Rev. Randall Grier

Rev. Randall Grier answered the call of the Lord Jesus to preach the Gospel while on his third escape from prison in May of 1982. Rev. Grier surrendered to the call of God and turned himself in to the authorities. While praying out behind the prison on April 5, 1984, he had a supernatural experience with Jesus. Jesus said, “I am anointing you today to begin to enter into the ministry I have called you to and nations and countries will be changed through this anointing.” That very day Rev. Grier entered into a powerful anointing to set the captive free. He was released from prison on August 27, 1984 after being told he would be released in the month of 'none' - all by a miracle of God!
