The Lord has been speaking to the spirits of many pastors, ministers and Christians. Many have been caught up with things of this world and are too busy to hear His Spirit speak to their spirit. Satan has designed this life to keep you so occupied with the affairs of life that you don’t have time to pray. Ministers can even get so caught up doing legitimate Biblical things that they get too busy to pray and seek God.
The question you need to ask yourself is, “What is the most important thing in life as a Christian?” The answer is knowing the will of God and doing it. You won’t ever really know Him, and His plans, without extended times of prayer and Bible study. There was research study, and I’m not one for all these studies, but I found it interesting. It said pastors and ministers prayed thirty minutes a day or less. Luke 18:1, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” How can we be anything but powerless, burned out, and oppressed by Satan when we won’t give much time to prayer? Pray often and pray much!
And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou may teach them. (Exodus 24:12)
This verse tells us that the Lord said something to Moses. You have to be in a place to hear what the Lord is saying to you. Many listen to what a book, cd, dvd, minister’s conference, TV, radio, and people say, but we must hear from the Lord. The Lord told Moses to come up on the mountain and be there.
Moses turned all administrative duties over to others and went off to be with God. The pattern or plan of God for you and your life is not on this earth. Moses was there for seven days before God spoke to him. What if he had left on the sixth day? It took faith to wait on the Lord.
If we get so busy with every day affairs that we don’t have time to stay on the mountain, we will miss the pattern of God for us. We cannot force God to move in our timing. We wait on Him until He speaks, by faith. Don’t get so caught up in things that need to be done that you miss what is really important. There are times that the Holy Spirit will impress you to pray about certain things that concern His plan for your life. You’ll have an anointing or unction of the Holy Spirit to pray. But if you ignore the Holy Spirit’s promptings and busy yourself with natural affairs, that anointing will leave, and you’ll wonder if you ever sensed it! If you keep ignoring the Holy Spirit’s promptings, you’ll grieve the Holy Ghost, and He won’t deal with you anymore about that issue. Don’t ever be too busy to pray.
We are too busy like Martha was. We run here and there trying to fit into the crowd and make memories. The Bible simply tells us to “Be still and know that I am God.” I can hear you now, “My God! I don’t have time to be still! Don’t you realize all I have to do and keep up with! Get out of my way, I have to go! Simply, it is written, “Be still and know that I am God.” I heard you. You said, “You are going to meet your God if you don’t get out of my way!” Ha! Ha! Ha! But it is true you know. You remember the Bible tells us that in the last days men would run to and fro. We are in the last days.
We are also distracted and too busy with electronics and games. Christian’s minds hardly ever rest because they are searching the sites on the phone or computer. They are mentally overactive and they lose perception of the spiritual realm. We miss the plan of God for us, when we get in a hurry to do something. We possess the best through faith and patience. Take time to wait on the Lord in prayer. God is with us!
