It’s not possible to accomplish God’s will without His Word and without being led by the Spirit of God.
Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
Here’s a question for you: If you’re not led of the Spirit of God, are you a son or daughter of God? Something to think about.
It’s very important, if we’re going to follow God, to be led by the Spirit of God.
The Spirit Himself, bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. – Romans 8:16
The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord searching all the inward parts of the belly. – Proverbs 20:27
He will enlighten us. He will guide us through our spirits. So many times Christians will seek guidance through other means, including prophets. The prophets are not set in the New Testament church to lead, guide or direct you personally. They can confirm what you should already have on the inside of you. When you learn to hear from God yourself, you cannot be led astray. The Lord will tell you what to do. Get back to doing things the way the Word of God says to and the way the Spirit of God leads.
John 4:24 says “God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Thessalonians 5:23
We’re made in the likeness and image of God. He is a spirit, and we are spirits too. He’s going to guide us through our spirits. The number one way that God leads us in spiritual things is by the inward witness. Anytime the Spirit leads, it’s going to be in line with the Word. We’re going to have to spend more time in the spirit. Camping out around the Word puts something in you that you can’t get any other way.
There’s always an element of faith involved in following God. You don’t see it all at the moment. Use what you have at your disposal. Use the faith that you have and it’ll grow. If you set around talking about what you haven’t got, you’ll probably never do God’s will. You can’t do what I did or what somebody else did just because they did it. You have to be led by the Spirit of God for yourself and do what He tells you to do.
It’s better to stop and wait until you know which way to go before you start moving in a direction. Don’t go until you know. You don’t want to miss that inward witness. Being disobedient will get you in a mess. Take the time to pray and get ahold of God and listen to the inward witness that He gives you. God is with you.
