The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” A person who does not have a spirit of fear is simply a person that will not run from the fears that arise in life.
When you’re not afraid, you won’t run; but a person that gives into fear will always run. They run from confrontation. They run from problems. They run from situations and circumstances. They hide, shiver and shake. If you do not fear, you will not run. You stand your ground. You don’t run from the devil. You don’t run from problems, and you don’t run from circumstances. You may say, Brother Randy, “Aren’t there problems and circumstances all around?” Certainly there are, but I’m not going to run from them.
The only running I’m going to do is to face the enemy and confront him. The way that David confronted and triumphed over Goliath, is the same way that I trust in the Lord to overcome circumstances that appear to overtake me. And in the same way that the Lord God Almighty delivered David from the giant, He will lead you in a triumphal procession over the giants in your life. Charge the enemy with the faith of God in your heart and faith-filled words in your mouth.
