There are things that the devil does not want you, I or anyone else, to do. He knows if you do these things on a consistent basis, you will always live a life of victory and success. You will have authority over all evil spirits and prosper at all times, even when the storms of life are blowing. Satan will fight to keep you from doing these things.
PRAY
Prayer is the only way that you have the spiritual strength to overcome the pressure the devil’s world system brings against you daily. Prayer is where a spiritual osmosis takes place. All your weaknesses are filled with the ability of God. You are filled with the Power of God and the boldness of God. You become like the Lord by spending time in His presence. (see, Luke 18:1, Isaiah 40:28-31)
READ AND SPEAK THE WORD OF GOD
In Matthew chapter 4, Jesus was led up of the Spirit to confront the devil. Many have thought that God was trying to use the devil to teach Jesus a lesson. That is not what God was doing. God was using Jesus to teach the devil a lesson!!! Jesus taught the devil that a son of God was no longer subject to the power of Satan! The first Adam (and Eve) failed to conquer Satan, in the Garden of Eden, because they did not adhere to God’s Words and declare the Word to the devil. Jesus defeated Satan because He adhered to God’s Words and declared them to the devil!
The scripture says that Jesus was led of the Spirit to face the devil. God permitted or allowed this event to take place. God will allow or permit you to be in a test or trial also. Why? So the devil can teach you a lesson? No! So you can teach the devil a lesson!! The Lord expects us to take His Word and follow His example and declare the Word of God to the devil. Do not accept defeat! Stand in the face of seemingly imminent failure and laugh out loud at the devil! James chapter one tells us to count it all joy! Yes, I have been there facing challenges. I know it is easier said than done, when darkness seems to be squeezing in all around you. Victory is surely yours! You cannot be defeated when you adhere to and declare God’s Word in the face of adversity!!! Sometimes I shout God’s Word out so loud that I rupture the devil’s ear drum! Of course, I am in a place that I can do that when I do. I know shouting doesn’t make it any more forceful, but it sure helps me and my emotions!
USE YOUR FAITH
The Lord has already done everything He is ever going to do about our victory, success, health and prosperity. He expects us to take our faith and lay hold of what He has done for us so it can be a reality in our life. Faith is the vehicle that takes you to your hopes, dreams and desires. You must use your faith to obtain the blessings God has already provided for us because we live in a fallen world. Our world is infested with evil spirits that try to block the blessings of God from getting to us. Remember, In Daniel chapter ten, Daniel prayed and sought God, but it was twenty one days later before the angel got to him with the answer. The angel told Daniel that evil forces had kept him from getting there sooner. Daniel had to stand in faith for all those days. Set your faith and believe God for what you need or desire and do not give up. It will come to pass!!! (see Hebrews 11:1,6)
ATTEND CHURCH
Most Christians don’t live close enough to God to keep the devil off of them and their family. We simply do not gather around the Word of God often enough. Be faithful to attend church and meetings. We are called to fellowship with fellow believers and not despise those times and relationships. The devil would prefer if he could make you an island unto yourself. When you get there, you think you know it all and have no need for anyone else. Being around other believers helps to keep you grounded and helps sow the Word in you.
Don’t let the devil win. If you continue in these things, you will put and keep the devil under your feed and be a success in every area of your life. God is with you!
