I agree that things in the natural world look bad in the political, social, financial and spiritual realms. If you watch the news for too long, you’d start to get depressed. It looks like the devil is taking over in every area and I can understand how many could get discouraged, but I know there is HOPE. God’s Word is still true. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 15:13)
We have lived too long in the realm of the flesh or the sense realm – relying upon what we see with our physical eye, or hear with the physical ear, or feel with our hands or our feelings. For that reason, it is so difficult for us to grasp the reality of the unseen. We have depended too long on that which is seen.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:12-13)
Yes, the devil is trying to implement his strategy, but the church has authority over all evil spirits in the name of Jesus Christ. Instead of playing church and riding on that cruise ship, jump off – get on your knees and start praying. The church is a working church. It’s a fighting church. It’s a battle ship, not a cruise ship. We must stop looking at what is going on and look at what the Lord has said. What has He said in His Word? What is He saying by His Spirit?
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (Eph. 6:16)
We are told to take the shield of faith. That means it is ours to take. We’re told to take it. It isn’t something God does for you. It’s something we have to do. We can’t just sit around and expect God to do it because He’s not. He left it up to us. If we don’t do it, it won’t get done. He has given us the power, the authority, and the responsibility to do it. That means it can be done and it will be done because we’re going to do it.
If we will pick up the sword of the Spirit, the Name of Jesus, and the shield of faith, and go out against the devil, we will put him on the run. You do something about it. Thank God, you can!
There is no need to give up or give in to satanic oppression. It doesn’t matter what the news says or what the world looks like. We have inside information. The remnant church is in its finest hour. The last great revival is taking place around us regardless of what it looks like in the natural. The devil always kicks up a fuss and throws things around when he’s losing, but we win! God is with us!
