The ministry gifts of the the Lord Jesus Christ, found in Ephesians 4, are God-ordained offices for the church today. They are placed in the body of Christ for the maturing of the saints. Without them, the body of Christ will not come into its full maturity as God has designed. One of the most misunderstood offices of those mentioned is the office of the prophet. The prophet is not the same in the New Testament as it was in the Old Testament. Prophets are called for a special purpose, just as every other office and Christian is called for a special purpose.
