Do you know that we’re living in the latter times? It’s plain as day if you just open your eyes and look around. But the Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 4:1, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils”. Did you see that? Seducing spirits! They’re out there, and they’re trying to pull you away from the truth.
These seducing spirits are sneaky. They don’t come at you with horns and a pitchfork. No, they’re much more subtle than that and they’re trying to get you off the Word of God. They want you to think you’re wasting your time believing God’s Word, confessing God’s Word, and standing on God’s Word. They want you to think it’s all a bunch of hooey. That it won’t work for you.
The devil is a liar! He’s been lying since the Garden of Eden. Remember when he came to Eve and twisted God’s words? He made her think that she could be like God if she just disobeyed. And he’s still using the same old tricks today.
He’ll try to discourage you. He’ll throw circumstances, situations, sickness, disease, and financial matters at you. He’ll try to make you think there’s no way out, that it’s hopeless, that you’ll just wander in the wilderness.
But don’t you believe it for one minute! You have authority over the devil. Mark 16:17 states that signs will follow those who believe, and “in my name shall they cast out devils.” Luke 10:19 states, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” You have authority!
Now Hebrews 11:6 tells us, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” It is not possible to please God without faith. You’ve got to believe that He is who He says He is, and that He’ll do what He says He’ll do and that He has given you what He said He’s given you.
Don’t let seducing spirits get you off the Word of God. Stand firm on what God says, and don’t back down. Believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Remember my story about being sick in prison? The devil tried to convince me that healing wasn’t real, that God’s Word wasn’t true. Even my friend Ted McGinnis, who had been saved from a horrible life, told me that what I was teaching about Jesus being a healer was of the devil. But I got mad and told him, “You lying devil, you! God’s word is true, and by his stripes, I’m healed!” Maybe not the the most kind thing to say, but I was young and still learning.
But you know what? God came through. He healed me because I stood on His Word, even when it looked impossible.
So, don’t let the devil steal your faith. Don’t let him seduce you with his lies. Stay in the Word, believe God, and watch Him work miracles in your life.
James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
It’s time to take a stand and declare, “The devil is under my feet! I will not be moved! I believe God’s Word, and it will work for me!”Remember that God is with us!
