Receiving the Glory

November 10, 2025 By Rev. Randall Grier

Many times we pray for God to send the glory. It’s understandable. We don’t see it, so God must not have sent it, and since He is the one that has it, we need to request that He send it. But there’s a problem in that thinking.

Yes, we desire to be in the middle of God’s last-day end-time move, but if we’re going to pray, we need to pray accurately. We need to realize that we have been working on the wrong end of prayer. We pray for God to send the glory, but the problem isn’t on God’s end—it’s on ours. He wants to send it more than we want to receive it. The glory is available, but we have to understand the problem we’re facing.

We have to change our focus from the giving end (God send it) to the receiving end. Instead of praying for God to send it, we need to pray, “God, what do we need to do to receive the blessing?” With anything we receive from God, we have to be positioned properly. We have to qualify.

Just as hearing from God requires adjustment, so does receiving. Dad Hagin told a story about a time when he and a group of others were praying for a woman stricken with cancer. The group fasted and prayed for several days for this woman but received no answer. Finally, Dad Hagin realized that they were missing it on the receiving end. They were praying, “God, send it,” when they should be asking for direction.

They changed their prayers and started asking God what they needed to do. The Holy Ghost then directed Dad Hagin to stand at the head of the bed. He did so, and revelation came. The woman did not just need healing. There was an evil spirit that was causing the sickness. They changed their prayers and followed what the Spirit said, and that woman was miraculously healed.

If they had not changed their prayer focus and started asking God what they should do, that woman would have died from cancer. It wasn’t just a matter of healing. It was a matter of casting out a demon.

I was in a similar situation as well. I was called upon to pray for this senator who was on his deathbed. A family member had come to a meeting I was preaching at and requested that I and some others come and pray for him. During this time of prayer, these other ministers started prophesying that he was healed and he was going to live a long life. However, every time I tried to pray anything about his healing, the word “healed” just wouldn’t come out of my mouth. It was supernatural.

I waited for the inward witness to figure out what was going on, and the Lord told me that this senator was going to die. The Lord shared that he was a mean person and had unrepented actions and sins against people in his life, and because of those, he could not receive healing.

Jesus had 100% success because He was 100% led by God. It would do us good to be like Jesus. If you haven’t been receiving an answer, you may need to make adjustments; ask the Lord to show you. It may take some waiting on Him to get that answer, but it’s better to wait and get it done right than to go through a lot of wasted motions.

Understand that spiritual things are spiritually discerned. They don’t come by the natural. The revelation the Lord gave me about changing the way we pray is exactly that—revelation from the Lord.

But the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned – 1 Corinthians 2:14

God is not going to send his glory until the church makes adjustments. The church has been too irreverent, irresponsible, and disrespectful to the Holy Ghost. The time we live in is one of preparation and separation from anything that would hinder receiving the glory. If the Lord were to send His glory now, it would kill most of the church because of the carnal nature of a majority of it. The Lord says to be holy as He is holy, and He means it.

God always works according to principles, patterns, and plans. This principle of separation goes all the way back even to the times of Moses. In the Old Testament, the children of Israel disappointed God by worshipping the bull idol Apus (the golden calf) and identifying with the world (Egypt). As a result, Moses had to pitch the Tabernacle outside the camp because God said He would consume them if He came into their disobedience. God will not come into certain places where there is flesh, idols, or the bull of the world. If you put anything ahead of God—remove it!

The Glory of God is coming for those who prepare for it. It is time for the fire, not just the Holy Ghost. This anointing, or fire, will be so strong, though, that we will need to ask the Lord to turn it down. But we have to be prepared. We have to crucify the flesh and be set apart. As long as the church can live without the glory, it will. When the church becomes desperate enough, the glory will manifest.

We must be willing to do whatever God wants to see the move of God come to pass. You have to have the declaration “I am willing to be willing” and follow through. Commit, dedicate, and consecrate yourself to God. Start seeking His face on a higher level.

Don’t yield to guilt over all the things you’ve done in the past. But set your face like flint, as they used to say, and be determined to do whatever is necessary to receive what God wants to bring to pass. Start calling things that be not as though they already were: “Thank you, Father, that I’m hungry for you.” Confess that Jesus is number one. Start yielding to the Holy Spirit by praying in the Holy Ghost.

Consistent baby steps over time will build spiritual habits, preparing you and the entire church body to be a sanctuary ready for God’s glory. God is with us!

About Rev. Randall Grier

Rev. Randall Grier answered the call of the Lord Jesus to preach the Gospel while on his third escape from prison in May of 1982. Rev. Grier surrendered to the call of God and turned himself in to the authorities. While praying out behind the prison on April 5, 1984, he had a supernatural experience with Jesus. Jesus said, “I am anointing you today to begin to enter into the ministry I have called you to and nations and countries will be changed through this anointing.” That very day Rev. Grier entered into a powerful anointing to set the captive free. He was released from prison on August 27, 1984 after being told he would be released in the month of 'none' - all by a miracle of God!
