On May 1, 2015, the Spirit of God revealed a perversion of the gospel to me. It was a revelation from the Spirit of God. It wasn’t something that I came up with. I got it from God during a time of prayer. When we get in the presence of God, in prayer, He starts to speak to us. Some get concerned when God starts speaking to people. I think we should get concerned when He is not speaking to people.
The perverted past tense gospel of Christianity has been proclaimed throughout most of the church world. This false doctrine presents only one side of the gospel. The gospel has two sides that must be obeyed to please the Lord Jesus Christ. When you understand this, you’ll see why we have some of the problems we do in the church. There is a Godward side and a man ward side to the gospel of Christ.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. (Gal. 1:6-7)
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (2 Cor. 11:4)
Today, there is another Jesus and another gospel being preached and embraced by many in the Christian world. You know this. You’ve seen this throughout all the church world. It is a perverted gospel that has been turned around, or changed, to fit the ideas of men, popular culture and society. It does not agree, fully, with the the New Testament and is doctrinal error and deception.
***Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. (1 Timothy 4:1)
The Past Tense gospel declares that Jesus Christ has already done everything and the Christian only believes that, and has nothing to do themselves. It is proclaimed, “only believe” and there is no action or works required of the believer today. It is true that Christ has already saved us and His work is finished, but Christians must implement the Word of God, in their lives, and practice it. Some that believe this even say Jesus has already forgiven the Christian of all sin and no repentance is required when they sin. That does not agree with the Bible. I said, that does not agree with the Bible.
The Present Tense gospel declares that Christ has already paid the penalty for all sin, sickness, poverty and spiritual death and His work is finished. Yet, the believer must accept the work of Christ, act upon it, and practice the Word of God in their lives. The New Testament writers clearly stated that the Christian must do more than confess Jesus Christ as their Lord to fully obey the doctrines of the New Testament. The person who has confessed Jesus as their Lord will act like Jesus is their Lord, according to the Bible.
Paul in Romans 6 tells us what we must do.
Paul in Colossians 3 tells the Christian what they must put off and put on.
Paul in Ephesians 4 & 5 tells us what to put off and put on.
James in James 2 tells us faith without works is dead.
Galatians 5:16-21 tells us that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 tells us who will not inherit the Kingdom of God
Many other verses and chapters in the New Testament say the same things.
THE CHRISTIAN LIFESTYLE
The word Christian defines a person that is “born again” by believing that Jesus Christ died for them, rose again, shed His blood, and they have a “behavioral change” that agrees with the Bible. I was born again on my third escape from prison. I immediately turned myself into the police officers and told them I was on escape. My behavior did not save me, it was only the result of my being born again, or saved. My faith in Jesus Christ, His shed blood, and His grace is what saved me.
When a person is truly born again, their behavior will change because the gift of righteousness is imparted to their human spirit. If a person is born again, they will no longer desire to live like a sinner and they will not practice sin on a continualbasis. God is love and He is gracious, merciful and forgiving, but according to His Word, He does not approve of anyone disobeying the Bible. Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace, and may you help us all to take our place in You.
