In Luke 10:19, Jesus said to the disciples, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” But He continued to tell them what was more important, “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
It’s more important that our names are written in Heaven than we cast out devils. That’s because the authority to cast our devils is based on our names being written in Heaven, which comes through our Lord Jesus Christ. Because our names are written in Heaven, we have been given authority to do a lot of things. It’s when we realize that authority and where it comes from that we can act on God’s Word and be a success.
